So with the MDX, you know they're pretty capable SUVs, and people use 'em to do a lot of different things, which does include pulling some trailers around. One of the things that's pretty cool about this wiring is it can live inside of the vehicle when you're not using it, that way, you don't have any wiring hanging down below the vehicle if you don't want to. Hello, neighbors. It's Brad here at etrailer. And today, we're taking a look and installing the CURT trailer wiring harness four-pole on a 2014 Acura MDX. Having a trailer wiring is a great way to keep yourself safe if you do plan on ever towing a trailer because it's gonna send the light sequence that you're using in your vehicle, which is gonna be your running lights, turn signals, and brake lights to the trailer, letting the people behind you know what you're doing and when you're turning and braking. So, that's gonna be a required application when you are towing. Now, this is also a really nice system because it lives outside the vehicle currently. more

Hello neighbors. It's Brad here at Etrailer, and today we are taking a look and installing the Tekonsha T-One trailer wiring harness on a 2022 Acura MDX. So here's our 4-pole. We have this mounted up on a nice bracket, and this is gonna be great when you're ready to tow a trailer. So your trailer is gonna have lights, and in order for that signal to go from your vehicle to the trailer when driving, you need to hook up to your 4-pole. So this is gonna give you your running lights, your turn signals, as well as your brake lights, and that way the people behind you know what you're doing, and it's gonna keep you safe and legal when towing. more

Many of our RDX customers use their hitch to do a little bit of everything, which includes towing. That's where the wiring is going to come into play. Once you hook this up to your trailer, that's going to allow those lighting functions on the back of your trailer to match up with the lights in the back of your RDX, keeping you safe and legal. And something I really like about this kit is the fact that it's going to utilize our factory connector, so more or less it'll plug right in and it's also going to have a module box. more

This is going to provide us with the necessary lighting functions on the back of our trailer to match up with the lighting functions on the back our RDX, to not only remain safe but legal. The one thing that I really like about this wiring is the fact that it uses a module box. Now I want to walk through how to install the curt T-connector vehicle wiring harness, adding wiring to your vehicle, can allow you to give your trailer whatever it is you have hauling that has lights on it, the proper light functions from your vehicle while it's being towed. This wiring harness is going to be a very simple installation, just going to plug directly into some factory wiring. And the only thing you have to do is install a couple fuses and you're ready to go. It's going to give you three amps per circuit for your stop and turn signals. more

I actually really like the kit, and we'll kind of talk about this setup a little bit later. So for now, let's kind of focus more on the 4-way connectors.If I had to choose one of these for my own Acura, I think I'd definitely go with the Tekonsha, and that's really just because the quality of construction. more

So one of the things I really like about this wiring is how you're able to store it whenever you're not using it. If you're someone that don't plan on using wiring all that often, you can actually keep it inside of your Acura out of sight and out of the elements, and that's what our customer chose to do today. And all you're going to have to do is open up your floor covering and your little cargo tray, pop open your little cover, and pull your wiring out. So inside of here, it's nice and protected and out of the elements. more

This keeps it in place and won't cause any damage to it. It provides you with all of your necessary lighting, which includes your left turn signal, right turn signal, tail lamps and brake lamps and showing your DOT compliant in all States. Today in our 2010 Acura MDX, we're going to be installing Tekonsha's T-One vehicle wiring harness with 4-pole flat trailer connector. This 4-pole trailer wiring harness, it's going to provide you with all your necessary lighting. This includes your left turn signal, right turn signal, tail lamps and brake lamps, keeping you DOT compliant in all states.The wiring itself is designed to live inside the vehicle and when you're ready to use it, you can just drape it out over the back like we have here. As part of our harness there's a module that senses the signals from your turn signals and brake lamps and sends them down to your 4-pole connector. What's nice about this is if you have any faults on your trailer, the module will shut down those circuits, protecting the circuits in your vehicle from any damage.When you're ready to use your wiring, simply pull up your panel. Drape it down over the back, making sure that you avoid your striker there and just shut your lift gate. more

Today on our 2019 Acura MDX, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Tekonsha T-One vehicle wiring harness with a 4 pole flat trailer connector.Here's what our wiring looks like once we have it installed. It is going to provide us with a 4 pole flat trailer connector, that way we have all the lights to safely get down the road, like our tail lights, turn signals, and our stop lights. Our wiring is designed to stay on the inside of the vehicle whenever we're not using it. But when we do, we can simply just drop it out the hatch, and so long as we stay away from the latch mechanism, the weather stripping here will provide enough cushion where the wire won't get damaged. Whenever we're not using our wiring, it's going to store nicely under the compartment by our spare tire tools and out of sight.Our wiring does have a convertor box, and it's going to help convert the signal from our Acura to a working signal for our trailer. But it's also going to protect the wiring on our Acura in case there's any problems on our trailer, so there won't be any back feeding. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2013 Acura MDX- Video
Speaker 1: Today in our 2013 Acura MDX we're going to be installing CURT's T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with Four Pole Flat Trailer Connector, Part Number C56038. This wiring harness is going to live inside the vehicle so it's going to be free from the corrosive environment that's outside.You can access it by lifting up on your storage compartment and it's tucked away nicely here on the side. When you're ready to use it you can simply unwind it, drape it out over the back and close your liftgate.The liftgate's going to pinch it between the weather stripping. This will hold it in place, but won't cause any damage to the wiring.This Four Pole Flat Connector is going to provide you with all the necessary lighting. This includes your left turn signal, right turn signal, tail lamps and brake lamps. This will keep you DOT compliant in all states.Also included with it, you'll get a dust cap. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2017 Acura MDX- Video
Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 Acura MDX we're going to be installing Curt 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector wiring harness. Part number C56192.This 4-pole flat connector is going to live inside your vehicle and provide you with all the necessary lighting that you'll need. When you're ready to use it, just flip up your cover exposing your wire. You can then drape it over the back, plug it into your trailer, close your lift gate and it will pinch right between your weather stripping which will be fine. It won't damage the wire, it will hold it right in place.This will give you all the necessary lighting that you need for you trailer including your left turn, right turn, brake lamps, and tail lamps. It's going to be DOT compliant in all states.Included with your kit you'll get a dust cap. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 Acura RDX we will be having a look at and showing you how to install the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with a Four-Pole Flat Trailer Connector, part number 56008.This wiring harness gives you the basic lighting functions that are required by law in order for you to safely and legally two a trailer. On this white wire here, we have our necessary ground connection between our RDX and our trailer. The brown wire is our tail light and running light circuit. On this circuit we have six amps of total power output. Those six amps will be sufficient enough to have a few incandescent light bulbs or several LED lights. LED lights draw less power than incandescent lights, so we're able to run more off of this circuit with that. more

Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness Installation - 2017 Acura RDX- Video
Speaker 1: Today on this 2017 Acura RDX we will be having a look at, and installing, the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector, part number 118569. Here's what our wiring looks like installed.This wiring harness gives us the basic lighting functions that are required by law in order for us to safely tow a trailer. This black wire here, with the white stripe, is our necessary ground connection between our RDX and our trailer. The wire with the brown stripe, that is our taillight and running light circuit, and on that wire we have a total power output of 7.5 Amps, which is more than adequate to run several incandescent lights, or basically as many LED lights as we want, because they do draw less power.On our black wire with the yellow stripe, that is our left turn signal and left brake light. On that circuit we have a total power output of 4.2 Amps. Tekonsha does recommend a maximum of two lights on that side, so if you have incandescent lights, limit them to two. more
